Fundraising

Bingo

Monday Nite Bingo is by far our biggest fundraiser. Under Denny Myers, a cast of intrepid Sertomans man the Bingo Hall in teams, serving about once each month. Some sell cards and cash checks...

Others like Bob Tuggle (doing his impression of Rush Limbaugh) call out the numbers.

But the most important people are the people who buy the cards and 'pickles' and pay the freight...

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Another important money-raising event is the Salvation Army Bell Ringing each Thanksgiving-to-Christmas season at Safeway and King Soopers. Shown above are representatives of The Salvation Army of Colorado Springs receiving their check from the kettle drive. Monument Hill Sertoma and the SERTEENS collected more than $30,000 with their smiles, annoying bell-ringing, and Ho, Ho, Ho's.

Super Bowl Party

And there are many other ways the club raises money for sponsorships. One of the most popular is the annual Super Bowl Pool. Blocks are selected at our annual Christmas Party. Here, Honest Jim Taylor (background) records the random selection of scores as judged by referee Ed Kinney, and Coach Glen Scott at our pre-Super Bowl meeting. Max Williams and Jim Taylor spend countless hours creatively developing ways to determine randomness. Below are some of the principals from the Hearing Dog program.
